The professor giving the lecture on effectiveness of working 4 days a week wholeheartedly disagrees with the views presented in the lecture that his class had read. There are few key point that he calls specifically into question: increasing profit of company, reduction of unemployment, better quality of employee's life as a result of working 4 days a week.
In the those of three points, professor presents an argument that contrasts starkly with the text. Whereas reading says that shortened workweek would increase company profits because employees would feel more satisfied and rested, energized therefore it would effect their productivity positively. In contrast to that, lecturer stated that company might should hire more employees in order to fill a gap, as a result company would have to provide training and medical benefits, and more office spaces and computers for new employees which requires considerable amount of money
Furthermore, the reading suggests that If full-time employees started working fewer hours, many job positions will be available for others. But professor points out that company may want their employees to work overtime to make up the difference, or company my rise their expectation of productivity of employees which makes workers feel unpleasant.
Finally, While reading suggests that less work-time could improve the quality of lives of workers by spending more time with their beloved ones and enjoying their time, Lecturer pointed out that employees who work less time than others are at risk of losing their jobs If economic countdown occurs and may effect their job stability which causes a serious problem for their career.
