The given circular chart illustrates the causes of Land Degradation, and tabular chart represents how the three region of the world affected by these causes since 1990.The data is calibrated in percentage.
It is clearly seen from the pie chart that, the major causes of worldwide Land Degradation was overgrazing, which was 35%. Secondly, 28% of degradation occured due to the over cultivation, while percentage decreased by 2% in the case of deforestation. At last, only 7% of degradation caused by others.
Moving further, it is clear evident from table chart that in North America 0.2% 3.3% and 1.5 % of land Degradation originating from deforestation, over-cultivation and overgrazing respectively, whereas in Europe, proportion of deforestation raised to 9.8%, 7.7%, and 5.5% in order. Finally, in oceania, 1.7 % of the land degradation occured by deforestation and 11.3% caused by overgrazing, however there was no effect of cultivation.
Overall, it is evident that overgrazing is the major effect cause on land degradation compared to the other main causes especially in Europe
