The graph pictures the number of complaints made about noise to Environmental Health authorities in the Newtown City between 1980 and 1996.
There were some places that were complained because they made more noise the other. The places were road works, traffic, factories and household. In 1980, road work was the most noise place with more than 600 people complained, but it then decreased steadily until 1982. It declined sharply until 1984 when it began to decrease steadily until 1988. Then it leveled off during two years. From 1990, it declined steadily to 1996.
The second most complained place in 1980 was household, but the complain leveled off until approximately 1984. Then it declined steadily, before it began to rise dramatically until 1996.
Factory was the next most complained place in 1980 and the complain rose sharply until 1982. From 1982, it inclined slightly, before it began to level off in 1987 until 1996.
The last was traffic that received smaller complain than the others. From 1982, it was only complained by 300 people and the complain leveled off to 1984. Then it fell steadily, before beginning to increase significantly from 1988 to 1996.
In conclusion, it can be seen that road works was the most noise place in 1980, but in 1996, the most noise place was household, then it followed by factories, traffic and road works respectively.
