The diagrams show the problem of flooding in a UK town and two possible solutions.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.
The three diagrams illustrate the flooding incident of an area in the UK and compare the two potential measures.
Overall, a severe flood is intruding into the town with an alarming effects on most of the corners. Moreover, there are two feasible solutions, namely relocation and dams.
As can be apparently seen from the first figure, almost half of the town is drowned. In the north, both Industrial Park and Residential Area are affected with a peak of fifty percent of infrastructure flooded. Similarly, the same devastation also occurred towards Commercial district, down to the southern region of the UK town.
Regarding the method in which facilities and places for living are moved much further up compared to the original locations, this has its own advantage as well as disadvantage. The benefit of this solution is that the environment of the rivers is preserved, while it is likely to be highly priced.
In contrast, the construction of dams at the estuaries of the rivers - River Awl and River Bole - seems less costly. However, the only drawback for this is of the need to spare more land for building up the reservoirs and dams.
