The two given charts explain why US residents traveled and what public transportation problems they experienced in the year 2009.
Overall, the principal reason for Americans traveled was to commute to and from work, while the primary concern was the cost of traveling.
About the bar chart, with 49%, commuting to and from work was the most significant proportion in the chart. In contrast, only 6% residents traveled in term of visiting friends or relatives, while the number of social reason reached for one-tenth of total. Additionally, shopping was cited as the reason for 16% of all travel, and unspecific as "personal reasons" accounted for the remaining 19%.
Regarding the pie chart, the most and the least significant portions were pricing of travel, with 36% and spacing for pedestrians, with 6%, respectively. Moreover, there was 19% citizens worried about safety when traveling public, while nearly a half of that number, 8% people thought that access to the public transport was the main issue. The combined percentage of two remaining factors accounted for a total of 28%. In detail, the number of aggressive drivers and highway congestion issues were 17% and 14%, respectively.
