The plans below show the layout of a university's sports centre now, and how it will look after redevelopment. Summarise the Information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
The maps depict how the sports center of a university look now and the planned transformation after its refurbishment.
It is clear, in general, that there will occur various changes making the center much more modern and convenient with the appearance of many new facilities.
At present, the sports center is quite simple with only three main parts: two outdoor courts on the two sides and the main house in the middle of the sports area. The main house contains a reception right at the entering door, a 25-meter swimming pool at the center which is surrounded by a seating area in the right, and a changing room in the left with a door to enter directly from the pool. Moreover, people can access directly from the reception desk to the changing room and seating area, and also there is a gym area in the north of the pool.
As far as the planned development is concerned, numerous changes are going to apply in order to make the whole area become more modern. The most significant contribution is the reconstruction merging all the current facilities into one large building and including several amenities. While the main house will remain unchanged, the outdoor courts will be destroyed to give way for a leisure pool and a sports hall. There will be two changing rooms in two opposite corners near the entrance, next to a sports shop and a cafe. Strikingly, the gym area will be extended, and two dance studios will be built in the east of the center.
