The chart below shows the amount of energy consumed in three countries in the year 2000 and the rate of increase in energy consumption a scompared with the year 1999.

The table provides information about the energy usage in three different countries (Australia, Japan and USA) in 2000 and the increase in rate as compared with the year 1999.

In general, among these three countries, USA consumes the most energy but the rate of increase as compared before is low. Japan, on the other hand, consume less energy in comparison with that of USA but it has the highest rate of usage between these countries.

To start with, USA is undoubtedly consuming the most energy as compared with the other two countries, using 1,420 million tons. This is followed by Japan and Australia at 403 and 92 million tons respectively. When it comes to the rate of how the usage climbed up, Japan apparently consumed faster that the others, having 42.5% while Australia and USA have 21.5% and 13% increase accordingly.

The energy consumption was divided into three categories namely Industry, Transport and "Others". In these areas, USA uses the most energy (Industry at 420, Transport at 565 and others at 435 million tons). Next to that is Japan using 159 in Industry, 96 in transport and 48 in others. Australia, being third on the list, consumes 36 in industry, 25 for trasnport and 31 for "others". Despiote of USA consuming most energy, it ranked third as for the increase of rate, next to Australia and Japan ranking second and first respectively.
