The lecturer and the reading passage hold completely opposite view about the discovery made by researchers from fossil remains of Tyrannosaurus.
The lecturer argues the first point, branching channels corresponds to hollows in the bones, can not be true because the soft flexible material inside the bone channel can be something else. Died bacteria can also form hollow spaces which can form channels of blood vessel. Moreover, the hollow space might be the residue of the organic material. The reading passage, however, argues that soft substance may be the remains of actual blood vessels of T. rex.
Regarding the second point, presence of spheres could be the remains of red blood cells, lecturer explains that fossils of primitive animals did not have red blood cells, therefore presence of spheres do not represent remains of red blood cells. Furthermore, they can be just reddish minerals present in the bones.
Finally, lecturer objects the third point - dinosaur leg bone contained collagen. The lecturer points out that collagen can not be found in hundred thousand year old fossils, while the research were performed on 7- million year old fossils. Thus, this point of the research is too improbable. In addition the collagen found might be from the more recent source i.e from the skin of the researcher handling the bone. Nevertheless, the reading passage gives totally opposite view.
