The provided chart illustrates the total expenditure measured by pence of British people on fast foods per week while the
graph displays changes in the spending on three specific kinds of fast foods.
As can be obtained from both the chart and the graph, hamburgers were very popular among people with high income
and above, while fish and chips were preferred by low-income citizens. Moreover, the period from 1970 to 1990 witnessed
an upward trend in the consumption of hamburgers and pizza; however, fish and chips’ popularity seemed to decrease.
When observing the chart, people spent most of their money on hamburgers as its figures were over 40 pence among
high-income people and 33 pence among the average income class. Fish and chips were also common as its money spent by
the 3 classes were between 18 and 25 pence per week. Pizzas were also a luxurious fast food as its expenditure accounted
for 20 pence among the high income and only 10 and 8 pence among the average and low-income classes.
