Which better buying mostly local food or buying mostly non local food

Essay topics:

Which better - buying mostly local food or buying mostly non-local food?

In today's global economy, it is easier for Vietnamese customers to access to a variety of food products imported from different countries such as beef from Australia, apples from US, oranges from Brazil. However, there are some disadvantages related to price, quality of them. One question is posed that which better - buying mostly local food or buying mostly non-local food? In my writing, I will tell three advantages to convince everyone to buy mostly local food.

First of all, it cannot be denied that locally producted food is far cheaper than non-local food. This helps customers can save an amount of money every day. Non - local food products often travel large distances to reach a store. As a result, the price of them is always more expensive than Vietnamese food. An apple, for example, might travel by truck from a farm to packing plant. It might then be exported by plane to Vietnam, than it reaches a store and then, finally, the Vietnamese

Secondly, large distances can impact on the quality of non - local food. For instance, to preserve oranges, suppliers sometimes use chemicals to maintain the freshness of them. It is very harmful for our health. That is the reason why we should believe in the quality of Vietnamese food products.

Last but not least, using mostly local food will promote patriotism, pride of the Vietnamese. It is very meaningful that Vietnamese people believe and buy food products by our own. In addition, this also contributes to increase income of poor people who plant and sell vegetables in the market.

There are three benefits of buying mostly local food. In conclusion, it is better to buy and use Vietnamese food products. However, it cannot be denied the benefits of non- local food. In some case, we should weigh up pros and cons from both.
