In today's world, it is more important to work quickly and risk making mistakes than to work slowly and make sure that everything is correct.
Stepping into the era of information, the working pace in most companies is faster than before. In many cases, quick decisions need to be made, and mistakes are sometimes inevitable. Regarding to a project, should we prioritize the efficiency and sacrifice the correctness? It very much depends on the types of work that is involved.
For demanding job that requires decisive actions, it is definitely more important to finish the task in time. Public Representatives are one of those occupation that requires dynamic employees who can make the optimum decision. There is not enough time for a PR to go over all the documents, or to wait for a thorough report for one event. The public usually expect instant responce or actions towrding an incident. Anothe example is the bid, real estate executives only have a few minutes to think about if a deal is worth bidding. there is an example in the popular book "Influnce", the CEO of ABC bought the franchise of a TV Show with a very high price. He regret it later on, but it was too late. This is the risks that one have to take in situations like that.
For sicentific research and artistic work, there is no need to be in a hurry. The purpose of scientific research is to gain accurate data and draw inspiring conclusions. Only through days and nights of hard-working can scientists get a breakthrough in a specific research field. There are cases of fraus and fake scientific reasearches reported in recent years, like the norious Professor in Harword University who cheated on one of it's papers, and this had a significant impact in many other reserchers. On the other hand, great art are usually created by thoses who spent years on polishing them. Michel spent over ten years in her bed to compose the classic "Gone with the Wind". Van Goal painted over 12 paintings in order to portrait the perfect one.
To sum up, time is money in business world. Technologies update fast, and capitals flow from one's hands to another. So, one may lose much more if he or she doesn't act quickly. While in the field of science and art, time is worth investing in creating classics.
