TPO-45 Integrated Writing Task

In this set materials, the reading passage state that the bees could not make some structures which were found in Arizona. On the other hand, the listening section brings into question the reading points by providing different reasons(and examples).

First of all, the reading passage indicates that researchers have not been found some fossils that belong to the bees which lived in 200 million years ago. In contrast, the lecturer opposes this view by mentioning that the trees live in 200 million years ago could not produce sticky liquid and that bees could not be preserved as fossils at that time. This sticky liquid was called resin which protects the bees nest. The resin could protect from the bees nests. Therefore, the fossils could not remain from 200 million years ago.

second, the reading argues that 200 million years ago, a flowering plant could not exist; therefore, the bees could not live; conversely, what the lecturer believes is different. She points that early bee feeding non-flowering plants such as the fern. when flowering plants were produced, they started to adapted with flowering plants. Hence, this claim is not correct.

Finally, according to the reading, the bee's nest fossils are as the same as the modern bees nest that made with a chamber; thus, they could not belong to the bees that live 200 million years ago. However, the speakers claim that modern bees use some specific chemical to waterproof their nests. and chemical similar to it has been found in the discovered fossil structure. Therefore, this evidence supports the theory of bee existence.
