Complain about the delay
Explain the problems that it caused you
Ask for a letter of apology and / or some form of compensation
Dear Sir,
My name is Ben Rocher and I am a member of your premium class membership program and a passenger who took your flight on February 20 from New Delhi to Bangalore. I am writing this letter to express my dissatisfaction with your service.
My return flight was booked on February 24 and was delayed by a day and was not communicated to any of the passengers. After reaching the airport, I got to know about the postponement and due to this, I have missed an important meeting that can cost me my job. To elucidate, firstly, I was supposed to present an important presentation to our foreign clients which of course, I will not be able to present now. Secondly, because of the delay, I incurred additional costing of lodging and food expenses of about Rs 10,000. Finally, I missed my nephew’s first performance in a play at his school which holds an emotional value for me.
I would like you to compensate me since all the consequences are caused by your airline. Also, I am entitled to get an apology letter to my boss from your organisation clearly stating the reason behind the delay.
I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Yours sincerely,
Ben
