Do you agree or disagree with this statement? Two persons cannot be friends if one is richer than the other.
There is no doubt that people always have a hard time to maintain their relationship, especially friendship. Numerous factors can devastate a tight bond between friends; one of those is economical distinction. Some people agree that two people cannot be friends if one is richer than the other; yet, I do not agree with the statement.
To begin with, personal matching can take place on different social or economic levels. Mostly, people tend to have a relationship as friends when they feel comfortable when they spend time together. For example, when I was in elementary school, my family did not have much money but they wanted me to go a good school. On the first day of the school, I felt uncomfortable since many friends of mine were rich. Since we took many classes together, we learned each other’s personality. Moreover, fortunately, our personalities matched, so we were getting along very well. Although my friends and I are different economically, we liked each other and become good friends forever.
In addition, personally, I believe that people acquire a long lasting friendship if they open their minds and accept others into their hearts sincerely; nevertheless, one is richer than the other. In fact, even though the person who is richer has an attitude and personality distinct from the other, they can adapt themselves to minimize the differences among them and have a good relationship. For instance, since I became a pharmacist and have a high income, my old friends, from elementary school, and I have different perspectives. Every time I go back to my hometown and hang out with the old friends, I try to adjust myself and accept the way they are sincerely. We always have a great time together because we try to understand each other and get rid of the external differences.
In conclusion, economic difference would not be a problem if people have matching personalities and try to adjust their thoughts in order to maintain a good relationship. Therefore, I would highly recommend disregarding the external factors, such as wealth, that are not significantly relevant to a friendship.
