"let is burn" policy and its effects

The article states the disadvantages of "let it burn" policy in which forest fire would not be controlled. The author of the article provides three reasons of support. However, the professor explains that "let it burn" policy could be beneficial and refutes the author's reason.
First, the reading claims that big forest fires like Yellowstone fires is responsible for huge damage to the park's trees and its ecosystem. The professor refutes this point by saying that the policy is good because it can make an opportunity for the environment to colonize with new plants. She states that fire causes new plants to grow better and also it is beneficial for some plant's seeds which need to high heat in order to starting growing.
Second, the author of the article posits that the wildlife of the park was damaged because most small animals was not able to escape from the fire. However, this argument is challenged by the professor. She explains that animals like rabbits can have new opportunity by accessing to new plants which would be fresher and stronger than before.
Third, the authors explains that the tourism can be affected by such huge fire which causes the park to lose its attraction for visitors. The professor, on the other hand, refutes this idea. She puts forth the reason that such a fire is rare and it has not happened since 1988 which caused the professor to conclude its effect would be superficial on tourism.
