The reading passage and the lecturer talking about Chevalier de Seingalt’s memories accuracy. However, some evidence have casted doubts about how exactly his memories were. They claim that the Chevalier faked numerous events in the memoir to make his life be more stunning and much better than how it really was.
The first allegation of the script against which the orator that Chevalier’s life was unworthy. The Critics who suggested that the fact, Chevalier barrow his money from one of the merchants, he was pretend that he had a lot of money. In contrast to the narrator which she insist that Chevalier was rich and he spent his money on holding parties and gambling as well. But in fact, she claimed that he run out the cash, so he was looking for some cash to barrow from the merchant because it takes time to convert his assets and getting cash instead.
The reading passage poses that there is cast doubt about another kind of diaries when Chevalier met a famous writer long time ago. However, it considers impossible that Chevalier still remember the details of a long conversation happened plethora of years ago. The aerator said that Chevalier had wrote his memories every night following that conversation. She also states that while writing the memoir the information from the written journal were used.
Lastly, another memories of Chevalier when he run away from a jail in Italy. Critics who’s claimed that Chevalier has numerous Italian Friends in politic department and they helped him to be free. The professor oppose this by stating that inside the jail there were a lot of powerful and stronger prisoners. Furthermore, they wouldn’t able to escape. Also, she assert that after Chevalier’s escaping, the government ordered to fix that ceiling. This validates the fact that he escaped through the ceiling as mentioned in the memoir.
Thus, the professor refutes all the controversies mentioned in the article and validates all the facts mentioned in the memoir, citing a possible reason.
