The maps below changes in the Spanish city of Castellon in recent times. Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.
The two maps display some changes which have taken place in the town of Castellon in Spain between the year 2000 and today.
Overall, it is clear that the principal changes to the town were the developments of public services and the constructions of a more environmentally-friendly transportation.
Looking at the map of Castellon in 2000, we can see that the public services were quite poor with just three common facilities (a university, train station and old market). The second map shows the town has been upgraded and covered with new and modern constructions. Both sides of the university now has a new shopping centre and dormitory. The previous train station has been now rebuilt and moved in front of the university. The old market has been knocked down to make way for a new shop. The eastern and port areas that were left undeveloped are now occupied with newly-built buildings such as a cinema, bars and clubs along the coast, under-constructed airport and new covered market in the east.
Currently, the motorway running from the west to east has been converted into a pedestrian street. The city centre now accommodates a lot of bikes for rent. There is a tramline connected the city centre with the university at the present.
