While parking his car in the lane outside your home, a neighbour has caused some damage to your car. You have decided to write to this neighbour.
Write a letter to him/her. In the letter:
say why you are writing
describe the damage caused to your car
say how you feel about this problem and suggest what actions he/she should take about it
Write at least 150 words.
Dear Mr Gordon,
I am writing this letter as I wanted to draw your attention to an issue which has been bothering me for some time now. Having lived close to each other as two good neighbours for a long time, we didn’t really have much of an issue to complain about. But, this time, I am afraid, I am whining about the damage caused to my car.
The other day, I found out about a big scratch on my car, leaving me wondering about what might have caused it. Then, later that day, my sister told me that she had seen you parking your car very close to mine and somehow leaving a big scratch on it. The scratch is deep and every time I look into it, I feel sad!
Now, I can completely understand the fact accidents can happen anytime and anywhere no matter how hard we try to avoid them, and I am sure that you didn’t cause the damage to my car willingly. In fact, the same could happen to me as well. So, my suggestion to you would be to exercise a bit more caution when passing by another car or parking near the house where another car is already parked.
I hope that you will pay heed to my good-neighborly advice to avoid such unwarranted situation in future.
Sincerely yours,
Joseph Wong
