Overall, it is clear that people came to and left the United Kingdom for a definite job, while the least purpose of immigrating was no reason given and few people left the country for formal study.
To start with, having a definite job is almost similar in ratios for immigration and emigration accounted for 30% and 29%, respectively. Meanwhile, more than a fifth of people looked for work outside the country compared to people who went to the United Kingdom at 12%. Formal study is more popular to people who migrated in the country accounting to just over a quarter of the total ratios, while a small minority went to another country to do their study.
The ratio of those moving to join a family were quite similar for immigration and immigration. Then, more than a third of people had ‘other’ reason or did not state a reason why they emigrated, this accounted for only just over a fifth of people who immigrated.
