The reading passage and the lecture are both discus the existence of animal tissues in the fossils of tyrannosaurus. With this in mind, the author states that evidence reveals the existence of blood vessels, collagen and blood cells in the bone of tyrannosaurus. The lecturer, on the other hand, contradicts all three episodes of arguments mentioned in the reading passage, believing that those reasons are skeptical.
First, both the writing and listening materials discus the soft and flexible organic substance in the channels. In this vein, the writer points out that the substance might be the remnant of blood vessels. Conversely, the professor makes it clear that the substance more likely to be the traces of bacteria colonizing the hollow.
Second, the author and the professor have different explanation about the presence of spheres inner the bone. While the author put forth the idea that the spheres could be the remains of blood cells because of their size and color, the lecturer reputes this idea. In this case, she explains that the red centers have been found in the other primitive fossils which didn’t have blood cells when they were alive. Hence, the color of spheres might just be the reddish minerals.
Finally, the writer and the speaker both discus the origin of the collagen that had been founded in the scientists test. The writer believes that collagen, the biochemical material, may associated with tissues of dinosaur’s bone. However, the speaker claims that collagen not long lasting, so observing collagen in the under-test fossils contradicts with this fact. Moreover, it is plausible that the collagen originated from the other recent sources such as skin of human touching the bones.
