The line charts show information about the average monthly money by British parents on their children's sports and the number of children participating in three sports between 2008 and 2014. Overall, the profound observation is that parents took much more expenditure to their's sports and football was always considered as the most favorite activity over the consecutive years.
In the first year of the period, children's sports cost 20 pounds monthly and kept a continuous increase in the next years, approximately 33 pounds. Regarding the number of children enjoy three different sports, in 2008, soccer topped the list with about 8 million, far exceeding swimming and athletics which were two and 0,5 million respectively. Except for a slight dip in 2010, those who took part in soccer kept increasing overtime and stopped at about 9 million.
Another steady growth was swimming with near four million in 2014, doubling the 2008 quantity. athletics experienced stable between 2008 and 2010, then gathering pace in the next two years before slightly declining in 2014, reaching a near fivefold increase.
