A glance at the bar chart provided reveals a comparision between two categories of households accommodation, owning and renting, in England and Wales from the year 1918 to the year 2011. Overall, households owning accommodation decreased over the time period. In contrast, the households renting accommodation increased.
In 1918, the percentage of households in owned accommodation were almost 70% while the percentage of households in rentend accommodation were around 20% in the same year, which shows a relevant difference between them in the begin of the period given. However, the percentage of households in rentend accommodation slightly increase until 2001, when the percentage was around 80%. In comparasion, the percentage of households in owned accommodation went down over the same time period, with a percentage of 30% in 2001.
In the last ten years, between 2001 and 2011, it is possible to see a small drop in the percentage of households in rentend accommodation and a small grow in the percentage of households in owned accommodation - from almost 70% to around 65% and from 30% to around 35%, respectively.
