comics
irst of all, In the passage, the author said that comics are a uniquely American arts form, and different countries around the world have been based on American comics. Then the speaker argues that there are some facts that are not true. In addition, most people think that comics strips are uniquely from American authors.
The first correction that the speaker argues is, the first popular comic strip is not American. Because, according to the speaker there are precedents that in Europe there have been more comics many years ago. In the second place, the writer said that the comics called Hogan alley is described as an American comic, but the speaker also argue that is not a hundred percent American, because characters and theirs authors are not American.
Moreover, the writer said that the most popular comic in the world was Superman, but the speaker refutes the point by noting that the comic called “Tintin” was more popular than superman before. In addition to this, Superman’s author is from Canada.
Finally, the speaker states that internationals comics were not just influenced by American comics. He also said that Disney comics were designed by European artists, not just from Americans. In addition to that, the speaker said that European comics have a special style. Finally the speaker ends with the sentence “Comics belong to the whole world”. In other words, comics strips have been influenced by many cultures around the world.
