The lecture and the article are both about the cause of otter population declining. The writer of the article feels that the environmental pollution is the more important cause of otter declining and provide three reasons of support. The lecture challenges the claims made by the author and he is of the opinion thet these explanations are faulty and says the predators is more important factor of otter declining.
To begine with, the author states that the sourse of pollution is near such as oil rigs . The specific argument is challenged by the lecture. He is of the opinion that if the pollution is the cause of otter declining, The coarps of them will be found on the beach but we can not see any dead body near the see. Therefore the predators kill and eat otters.
Secondly, The author suggests that the number of other small species who are living in this area are declining too because the pollution has a great effect on all of species. The lecture, however, rebuts this by mentioning that wales are disapear because of human hunters and so orches dont have another sourse of food so they predate oll of small mammals in the sea.
Last but not least, the writer posits that pollution theory can explain the unequall pattern of otter declining. In contrast, the lecture position is that orches have large body and they can not predate mammals in the shallow and rocky places so the number of otter in such that area are higher than other areas that orches can predate otter easily.
