The reading claims that Edomontosaurus would migrate in the winter at the North Slope since it was several months of total darkness in the region. The author's elaborates his viewpoints by providing three main reasons. Nevertheless, the professor believes that they are not convincing and refutes each of the author's reasons.
First, the article asserts that their diet suppurt migration since they need to obtain plants in the winter to survive. However, the professor refutes the concept by stating that about 1 million years ago the weather was warmer than today, as well 24 hours sunshine in pick of the summer provide considerable growing plants; hence, in the winter lots of the notronios plants peresnt and they did not need to migrate and comfortably lived in the dead earth.
Furthermore, the article avers that there were some evidence like skeletons which indicate that they lived in the herd. So, moving in the herds helps animal coordinate their migrate as some today animals. On the other hand, the lecturer brings up the fact that living in the herds have another meaning too, such as, protecting them from danger and predator. In addition, she states that kind of the Elk which lives in the western U.S and mentioned that they live in herds only because of the protect and do not migrate.
Finally, the article posits that Edmonotsaurs had capble of migerate 1,600 KM to south since they were fast and had sufficient power to do. Contrary, the lecturer casts doubt on this claims by stating about not adult animals which did not have phisical feature in order to migerate and they could not able to reach destination of the tratory. Therefore, adults would not leaved them since they could not survive for their own or migerating as them.
