Your local newspaper is offering an award for people who have helped the community. Write a letter to the newspaper editor. In your letter
suggest someone you think should receive the award
describe what the person does to help the community
suggest an award that would be appropriate for this person
You should write at least 150 words.
You do NOT need to write any addresses.
Begin your letter as follows:
Dear Sir or Madam,
You should spend about 20 minutes on this task.
Dear Madam,
I read with a great pleasure about the news that your organisation is going to give an award to someone who has contributed positively to our community. I especially liked your idea that you expect readers to suggest the name of a deserving candidate. Therefore, I take this opportunity to forward the name of Boris Boris as a suitable candidate for this award.
Boris Boris is a maths teacher in our local high school. In his spare time, he offers free tuition classes to students who are weak in his subject. Boris Boris thinks that it his duty to assist young schoolchildren whose family is not so well off.
In my opinion, your organisation can provide some monetary benefits to Boris Boris so that he can improve the condition of classroom. Currently, the class does not have a heating system and during winter, it's really terrible for students and teacher.
If you need any more clarifications, please feel free to contact me.
Yours Obediently,
David Donald Duck
