Name story
Name's most important usage is to call and name people while some people believe names can shape peoples' personalities and decide their destiny. My name is Neman and my last name is Ahmadi. I believe my name have never had any effect on my personality or life. It does not matter what people call me. I need to follow my passion and joy. People will remember me for my decisions and my deeds, not my name. I like my name because it is culturally accepted, religious and maybe nice.
I was named by my uncle who was the head of our family. Head of family is the oldest person of the family who is most appreciated by family members. My name is taken from the name of a religious person of the past century which was Abo-Hanifa Al Neman. He was an educated person who later became the leader of his society. He is a well-known person in Islamic societies. many people admire his personality and his services for the Islamic societies.
In our culture, people believe their children's names should be Arabic names because of their religion. This is why almost everyone's name here is Arabic and usually taken from the holy book Quran. Names like Muhammad, Abdullah or Ahmad are the most common names among people of Islamic societies. Because they are the names of god and his prophet. People believe this kind of names will affect their children's personalities, and will lead them to the heaven.
Actually, I believe names are just used to call people and nothing more. I am totally disagree with the myth that names can affect people's personalities. That is because I do not even believe at destiny. I believe people can decide their lives and their futures. Our lives are made by our decisions so only ourselves can shape our lives. Names are the terms used to know people or call them. It is not logical to think they can change your destiny.
I really do not have any feeling about my name and it is not significant for me and for my life. I like my name because of the pronunciation and the uniqueness. Neman in not much prevalent and there are not much people named Neman. These factors are more important for other people than for me. I really don't care what my name is, it could be one, two or three; therefore, I can never think of its effect on my life.
