You borrowed some books from your school or college library. Unfortunately you have to
go away to visit a sick relative and cannot return the books in time.
Write a letter to the library. Explain what has happened and tell them what you want to do
about it.
DEAR SIR,
I AM WRITING THIS LETTER TO INFORM ABOUT THE DELAY IN RETURNING THE BOOKS FROM THE DATE AS EXPECTED ON.
A WEEK AGO, I HAD ISSUED TWO SCIENCE REFERENCES, BY AUTHOR J. RAMNATH FROM OUR LIBRARY. I WAS INSTRUCTED TO DEPOSIT THEM BACK AFTER 10 DAYS I.E. 10/11/19.
UNFORTUNATELY, I RECEIVED A PHONE CALL THIS MORNING FROM MY PARENTS STATING THAT MY GRANDMOTHER IS ON CRITICAL STAGE OF HER LIFE. DOCTORS HAVE SAID THAT SHE MAY LEAVE US SOON. IN SUCH CIRCUMSTANCES, MY FAMILY SEEKS FOR SOME MORAL AND EMOTIONAL SUPPORT FROM ME.THEREFORE, I AM BOUND TO GO AND VISIT THEM.
I UNDERSTAND THAT MY PERSONAL SITUATIONS SHOULDN’T BE MY REASONS TO BREAK THE RULES OF THE INSTITUTION, BUT I REQUEST YOU TO CONSIDER THIS FOR THE FIRST AND LAST TIME. IN ADDITION TO THIS I PROMISE TO RETURN THE BOOK BY THIS SATURDAY I.E. 18/11/19. I ALSO ADMIT TO BEAR THE PENALTY CHARGES FOR THE SAME.
I AM SO SORRY FOR THIS INCONVENIENCE CAUSED AND I HOPE YOU WILL TAKE MY APPOLOGY INTO CONSIDERATION.
YOURS FAITHFULLY
AMAN SHARMA
