The diagram below shows how solar panels can be used to provide electricity for domestic use.
The diagram illustrates the process of producing electricity by using solar panels for domestic consumption.
It is clear that five tools are required to produce electricity from solar energy by using solar panels. Also, there are five main stages involved in the process.
At the first stage of the process, the panels installed on the rooftops capture energy from the sun and then convert it into DC current. The current then passes into an inverter which controls the electricity and the production and turns the current into AC current. After the conversion, the AC current runs into the electrical panel which distributes the electricity to homes for consumption.
At the next stage, any excess solar electricity will flow back to the grid through the utility meter. When the house consumes more than the amount of electricity that the panels can generate, the utility grid will provide electricity.
