From the 1983s until 2007, both plant-based and dairy products fluctuated exponentially. The biggest change was seen in the consumption of butter, which plunged over the 24-year period and stood at 50 grams in 2007. Meanwhile the figures for margarine was high in 1989 and it remained at a similar level until 1995, then fell gradually until dropped at 40 grams. Between 1991 and 1996, low fat and reduced spreads climbed markedly somewhere in the vicinity of 81 grams. As a result, this category used had a tendency to go down to roughly 70 grams in the final year.
