The bar chart gives information about how people aged 25-34 are housed in the UK
The bar chart illustrates the house status of middle-aged people from 25 to 34 years old living in the UK from 2004 to 2014. All the statistics are recorded in percentage.
Overall, there was a downward trend in the percentage of homeowners, which opposite to that of the renters.
According to the bar chart, in 2004, the percent of people who possess their own house reached a peak of nearly 60% which almost triple the rest who still be renters. However, the position gradually reversed since then. Over 8 following years, it experienced a steady decline in the proportion of homeowners which could be interpreted as there was an upward trend for the renters. In 2012, the percentage of homeowners dropped to approximately 43% that nearly equal to the renters (41%).
During the 2013-2014 period, the homeowners were not outnumbered like they used to be while the renters accounted for the majority. The proportion of renters climbed and peaked at about 48% whereas that amount of homeowners kept decreasing and hit the lowest point at about 36%.
