he reading states that the sale of fossils especially dinosaurs and large vertebrates become big businesses for collectors. They do not let other people observe their collected fossils. Hence, the interest of the people is decreased toward fossils. However, the professor states that these big businesses have more advantages that outweigh its disadvantages and give three logical proof.
First, based on the reading, collectors of fossils pay a lot of money for purchasing them which universities and museums can not afford this amount of money. In contrast, the author explains that there are plenty of fossils in which their price is low-level and any museums can buy them and put them in the public environment for humans to see them.
Second, the passage asserts that scientists do not have access to prominent fossils. These fossils have a lot of vital information and scientist can make a discovery based on them. Nevertheless, the lecturer explains that private collectors do not know which fossils are important. Therefore, they can not put a price on them. When private collectors gain a fossil, they call an expert which is a scientist to exam these fossils. The scientist who uses examination on these fossils obtains much information. Therefore, scientists will not miss valuable knowledge.
Third, according to the reading, most comercialls move the fossils position and do not memorize its position. They do not take in account the fact that scinentist can make a disvoery by observing the exact position of fossils and they remove proper evidence. on the contrary, the author demonstrates that it is true that commercial does not pay attention to fossils' position and this harms the scientist, but numerous fossils are discovered thanks to the commercial's effort and money. If it was not for them many other fossils would be undiscovered.
