Mind Challenges in the Modern World

Over the last decades the unprecedented changes have happened in the field of education and self-developing. Approximately 30 years ago there were either just schools and universities for getting educated in certain fields or self-educated books which by the way were not socially recognized to be a proper source of information. Nonetheless, the briefest reflect on the modern world reveals significant modifications that have happened due to the invention of the Internet. Were it not for Internet, there were not a blizzard of opportunities opened for us – from listening to the bloggers about their own experience and getting advice to getting high-leveled education from the top-universities of the world.

Undoubtedly, never in the recorded history have the opportunities in different spheres been achievable as they are today. The free access to researches, polling material etc; opportunities to connect with people over the world which have different life history, experience and knowledges; ability to catch up with all innovations not even leaving your house which make possibly for disable people to life a full-life – all these have already been our reality. To illustrate the instance, take a close look at one of the online platforms for educating, Edx. Here there can be found courses from ancient history, culture to high-progressive ones concerning bio-engineering and mathematical modeling of human’s organs. From Microsoft to MIT, all global companies and universities require just registration for being involved in these breath-taking chances. However, while one may be absolutely convinced that it is in fact a case, there have left skeptics who question the endless capacity of online education.

Having analyzed all abovementioned prons the opposition points out at the obstacles with self-discipline among the online participants, questions their ability to cover material from books not from the interaction with cases. The lucid example of it would be a video “The Challenges of Studying From Books Only” in which the author highlights the issues of memorizing the material and loosing your critical thinking over attempts to cover a huge amount of data. Whereas these cons and above pointed up cons are inevitably rising in this sphere, the situation could be ameliorated - actually it is already in the process of improving – through using a lot of interactive classes with opportunity to act in very near-to-real situations; online schedules and motivations in form of video, conference-calls from teaches, other students and graduated ones and though online testing.

In conclusion, it could be easily estimated that the current time is the time of modifications, progression and further movement. Also, there have been left a number of challenges for us, there is no need to retreat to the luddite in the attitude to innovation, including the online education, but rather than to embrace the positive posture to them and to be aware of possible changes in any sphere.
