starting in the 1960s and continuing until the 1980s, sailors in Russian submarines patrolling the North Atlantic and Arctic ocean would occasionally hear strange sounds. there is no one who know what was the reason that had caused this odd sounds and several theories that proposed what might have caused the odd sounds is not exactly true. the first reason, this theory that suggests that the strange noises were actually the calls of male and female orca whales during a courtship ritual is unlikely tobe true because submarines live in the deep of ocean and orca whales live in the surface water. the second reason, the sounds were caused by giant squid might be right but there is no reason for hearing the noise by approaching the submarines out of curiosity. the third reason, the submarines can not change direction easily so there is no possible that the strange frog like sounds may have been emitted by the foreign submarines unintentionally.
