TPO 2 Question : Summarise the points made in the lecture, being sure to explain how they case doubt on specific points made in the reading passage.
The reading and the lecture are both about the conducts of people into a group to develop projects. The author feels that there are valuable reasons to explain that having a team offers several advantages. The lecture challenges the claims made by the author. He has the opinion that these motives are fallacy.
To begin with, the author argues that a group of people has more knowledge and expertise. The article, also, mention that this resources provide by a range of people could result in a work with more different ways of thought. This specific argument is challenged by the lecture. He states that these differents forms to solve the problems need of the consensus of all the members of the team. As a result, it may delay the decision-making.
Secondly, the writer suggest that it can be rewarding make part of the group. The lecture, however, rebuts this by mentioning an experience made by a determined company that every group had someone that did nothing. In adition, he claims that recogniton made for great ideas or results in a group is unfair. Moreover, it will be considered the person who had the lack of results as others who had a good outcome.
Finally, the author posits that the indivudual group member has a better chance to be recognized as a leader, for this reason his or her contributions could result in a great accomplishment. In contrast, the lecturer's position is that this leader or influencer could ingnore other ideas and affect negatively the work process.
