The graph and table below give information about water use worldwide and water consumption in two different countries /line/ bar.
The charts compare how much global water was used by sector from 1900 to 2000 and the water consumption in Brazil and Congo in 2000.
Overall, there was an increase in the consumption of global water which was used for agriculture, industry and domestic activities. In 2000, the consumption of water in Brazil was higher than in Democratic Republic of Congo.
In the line graph, the highest figure was recorded in agriculture over a period shown, while the opposite was true for water consumption, which underwent a slight increase. In 1990, were the consumptions of agricultural water, industrial water and domestic water were almost 500km3, 200km3and 100km3 respectively. From 1900 to water increased slightly, to around 200km3. Between 1960 and 2000, the consumption of agricultural water rocketed and reached the top at the end, with approximately 3000km3. While only 1300km3 and 400km3 were the consumption of industrial water and domestic water respectively.
Looking at the table, in 2000, the population of Brazil was 176 million, while 5,2 million was the population of Congo. Water consumption in Brazil in 2000 was 359m3, which was higher than in Congo, at only 8m3. Therefore, the irrigated land in Congo accounted for 100km2, while this land in Brazil was higher 26400km2 than other in Congo.
