As demonstrated in the chart, Japan spent least money on health, which translates to 8% of GDP, as opposed to exactly 14% in USA. Following USA is Germany, whose health expenditure accounted for 12%of GDP. France and Italy comes next ( slightly higher than 10% and 8% respectively).
In terms of private spending, people in Japan paid the least for their medical bills///(2%) , which equals to that in France. On the contrary, people in USA needed to pay the most, which took up 10% of GDP. Italy and Germany showed no significant difference in this sector.
Referring to public spending, it is interesting to note that USA also allocated most money, totaling 12% of its GDP, which is more triple of that in Japan (slightly less than 4%). Germany ranked second, with the proportion of more than 8%, followed by France and Italy.
