Try not to become a man of success but a man of value
Even though the industrial revolution and economic stability by first world terrains have bestowed humanity with ample flow of monetary resources and anticipated success, still the commoners are deprived from fundamental moral and ethical traits. Sadly, the sole reason for this escalating vogue is infatuation and lack of self contentment among citizenry.
Undoubtedly, the need of the hour is to get admissible in the prevailing rat race of success and accomplish self assigned goals or aspirations but this should not be laid on the pavings of non communal practices. Over ambitious nature of 21st century people is distressing them to merely focus on the outcomes of the deeds without considering the ongoing practices. Consequently, they are least concerned about proffering aid to others and are found to be self centered for their goal which is eventually exerting them towards meaningless fortune. By ill luck, the individuals of contemporary epoch are mainstreaming the methodologies of earning name, fame and money by marginalizing the prerequisite for catering human values of brotherhood, cooperation, equality or assisting others during their hassles. This overblown nature for fulfillment of aims is giving birth to annihilation of mankind and the aura of individual presence. Notably, Colombian drug lord and narcoterrorist "Pablo Escobar" was the wealthiest criminal having amassed an estimated net worth of US$30 billion by the time of his death—equivalent to $59 billion as of 2019. Adamantly, he was successful in earning stardom and success globally by monopolizing the cocaine trade but was he a man of value? Unfortunately no. He in-spite of his entrepreneurial image was a terrorist with no worth in the eyes of authority and community and ruined the life of million Americans just for the sake of his own aspirations.
Interestingly, the philosophy of Indian society leans up the ideology of "Gandhi ji" which firmly cogitate that the bar for importance of human values and group work or togetherness should always be superior from the level of personal desires and materialistic success. Henceforth, one should burn the mid night oil to be a man of value, to motivate others by displaying profound self esteem and to showcase the thirst for learning by doing. The sole dependence upon the climax of a goal always impedes between the habit of productively utilizing the ongoing venture for the accomplishment of a certain goal. "Chanakya" the pioneer of the field of political science and economics in India and who assisted the first Mauryan emperor "Chandragupta" in his rise to power has highlighted the fact of "learning during the process" and " to follow moral principles". Consequently, acquiring knowledge from a particular experiment or through the path of success always modify the behavior positively by ensuring holistic development. Moreover, the welfare of other members of society should also be kept in mind and excursions of moral and ethical values should be prioritized. Individuals must decide to live by these principles while pursuing success and to forego success if those principles are compromised. "Gandhi ji" the father of nation can be exemplified as the man of value because he never altered his path of non-violence for attaining his goal of independence. Also, neither he compromised with his ideas and beliefs nor with his vision for "satyagrah movement". The practice of togetherness, brotherhood, cooperation and acknowledging each and everyone were the true traits of his personality. This is the reason he was the man of value.
Since to be successful is like to be on moon nine and everyone craves for success according to his personal goals, motives and aspirations but a man of value would be the ultimate achiever among all because success showcases ones determination and hardwork but values describe the principle philosophy of ones behavior. A man of value is always successful but a successful man seldom owe values.
