summarize the points in the passage, being sure to explain how they challenge the genetically modified trees described in the reading passage
In the reading passage, the author claims that planting genetically modified trees on a large scale could bring a number of benefits. While the lecture states that what the passage discuss is not convincing and disputes those ideas presented in the passage with several proofs.
Firstly, according to the reading passage, it is suggested that genetically modified trees are more likely to survive in some conditions such as the district has ringspot problem than their unmodofied counterparts. In contrast, the professor argues in the lecture that it is not true. Genetically modified trees are not diverse as unmodified trees and are desidned to overcome some environment challenges, which means that if they are exposed to unfamiliar challenges, they will all die.
In addition, the statement in the reading material indicates that genetically modified trees have a number of advantages including grow faster, give greater yield of food and be hardier, which allow tree farmers to get a big profit. On the contrary, the professor points out that there is a great deal of charge about the seeds for the farmers to undertake that is far more than ordinary trees. Also, when the trees are grown up, farmers cannot collect the seeds and plant them. By law, farmers need to pay for the company every time they plant.
Finally, the author of the reading claims that genetically modified trees can prevent overexploitation of wild trees because they are designed for fast growth and high yield in given geographic conditions would staisfy the demand for firewood or building timber in many of those areas and save the endangered wild tress. However, the speaker argues that genetically modified trees will cause even more damage to wild trees. Among those unmodifies trees, genetically modified trees will complete natural resources with them such as water, soil, sunlight and nutrients.
