Overall, more people in Japan widely used the internet for work and studies and continued even more in 2005, whereas communication and entertainment significantly declined at a minimal level.
Japan's internet was mainly for work in the year 1995 accounted for just over a fifth and dramatically increased to nearly half of the overall in the end year,2005. Similarly, there was a significant decrease in the figure for studies with recorded data from just over a quarter to 36% in 2005.
Meanwhile, communication used of the internet started from nearly a fifth and modestly decreased to just under a tenth in the end, which marked as the lowest figure of all the given categories. Also, with the same trend that fell, the entertainment began only to nearly a quarter and slightly went down to around just over a tenth in 2005.
