Overall, the school expenditure of boys and girls steadily raise in the period of 12 years from 2000 to 2012. In addition, a higher proportion of students gained diplomas compared with those who were awarded degrees.
Starting with below 10 million US dollars in 2000, total school spending on boys register an increasing trend through years and got 20 million and 25 million in 2004 and 2008, respectively. At the end, boys expenditure reached a peak of roughly 32 million in 2012. Similar trend can be seen in girls expenditure but lower which began with 6 million in 2000, then gradually rose through years and final reached a high of 20 million in 2012.
There was an increasing proportion of students who gained higher education degrees in Singapore between 2000 and 2012. The percentage rose from 27% in 2000 to 32% in 2012, whereas the proportion of those who graduated with diplomas decreased from 73% in 2000 to 68% in 2012.
