The graph below gives information from a 2008 report about consumption of energy in the USA since 1980 with projections until 2030 Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparison where relevant
The line graph illustrates the amount of fuel used by the US in the 1980-2008 period as well as predicted figures until 2030.
The first impression is that Petrol and Oil witnessed the highest quadrillion units in the six fuel types. In contrast, Nuclear, Solar/Wind, and Hydropower were seen at the lower end of the consumption level. Overall, there was an increasing trend observed all over the graph.
In particular, before achieving steady growth since 1995, the amount of Petrol and Oil consumption fluctuated for 15 years, starting at 35 quadrillion units. While the general numbers in Coal and Natural Gas were pretty similar compared to others, their changes in some given years were opposite. For example, Natural Gas suffered a rather big drop in 1980-1985 when Coal saw a subtle improvement while in 2015-2030, coal is expected to rise dramatically which is different from the staying-still tendency in Natural Gas.
On the other hand, compared with Solar/Wind and Hydropower, the consumption level of Nuclear rose consistently and is projected to stay like that until 2030. This tendency in future years is shared by the Solar/Wind and Hydropower but during past years, these two energies went through ups and downs.
