Overall, compared with 1989, the cost of buying houses in the surveyed years showed an upward trend, which increased significantly.
From 1990 to 1995, In New York, Madrid, Tokyo, which were three of the biggest cities in the world, the house price decreased considerably with 5%, 15% lower than 1989, respectively. By contrast, in Frankfurt and London, the statistics of the value of houses showed an upward trend. Specifically, in 6 years after 1989, the house price in London was 2,5% higher than before, while the cost of houses in Tokyo reached the level which was 0,1% lower than London.
