Spending on advertising of different car companies.
The table illustrates the amount of money that four automakers spent on different advertising platforms in the UK in 2002.
Overall, all automobile manufacturers spent the highest amount of money on TV commercials, with Cetirizine being the highest spender. In addition, the lowest figures for all companies were recorded in the category of cinema advertising, while the budgets spent on radio commercials were identical in all car companies.
Regarding TV advertising, Cert’s expenditure was the highest, at 70 million dollars, followed by Vau, whose budget for this category was 65 million dollars. The figures for Ren and Rover were 59 and 45 million dollars respectively. In terms of newspaper advertising, 45 million dollars was expended by Ren, which was nearly six times the figure for Vau, while the data for Rover was three times higher than that of Cert, at 38 and 12 million dollars.
All car companies allocated 15 million dollars for radio commercials. Ren and Vau paid out 7 million dollars for outdoor advertising, which was approximately 3.5 and over three times the figures for Rover and Cert in that order. While Rover and Cert had no cinema advertising budgets, Vau and Ren spent 5 and 6 million dollars on this category respectively.
