The charts below show what UK graduate and postgraduate students who did not go into full-time work did after leaving college in 2008.Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Two bar charts demonstrate what destinations British graduates and postgraduates were after college in the year 2008, divided into 4 categories namely part-time work, voluntary work, further study, and unemployment.
The first prominent feature is that further studying registered the highest figures in both charts while the lowest numbers belonged to volunteering activities.
In particular, 17,735 college graduates took on part-time jobs, which was pretty identical to the number of those that were jobless which was 16,235 people. Although higher education was accounted for what the majority of college students after graduation did, voluntary programs were where the least number of graduates participated which was 3,500 people.
Nevertheless, all categories in the postgraduate chart except for voluntary work witnessed similar data sizes which were above 1,500 people. A noticeable observation is that statistical results in this particular group are clearly at a much lesser extent in general. Furthermore, voluntary activities were again the least popular option decided on by only 345 postgraduates in 2008.
