Summarize the points made in the lecture about cheatgrass is an invasive species of grass that is causing problems in North American fields, being sure to explain how they cast doubt on the specific methods proposed in the reading passage.
prevailing of invade grass or weeds always considered one the challenging subject for agricultural fields special in North America chetagrass that is native from Asia and Europe is a invasive plant in the fields of North America. this plant very quickly widespread on surface of soil and absorb and compete the sun and other nutrient from the useful plant. Also it has some ecological problems that researchers need to consider to find out some solution to remove or control of it.
firstly, In the reading stated that some grazing animals such as cattle and livestock that lives in the farm fields can be release to the filled and feed and graze the weeds specific chitagrass. After while maybe the population of chitagrass would be decreased and some native plants finds space to reestablish and growth by replacement to them in North America that this weed is very prevalent.
On the other words, the professor repute this idea because the he thinks the chitagrass don not preverence in this area and others species are commonplace. It is possible that graze animals eat other plants and disturb the diversity of field's ecosystem.
Secondly, in the reading claimed that chitagrass is a plant that burning with controlled fire hands down. However, in the lecture professor points out this technique not pragmatic for this weeds. chitagrass one of the specific weeds that adapted its reproduction system to different time during one year and to put another way it is very fast reproduce plant and high volume seed produce in every cycle plant. The speaker says that the weed's seed fall on the ground and maybe push them to the underground. If the shallow plants burned, the seeds undergrounds will find room to replace and very soon germinate and growth to fill the surface of field even worse compared to before.
finally, the article stated that there are some funguses that can infect this plant in native ecosystem. One way it is to introduce this fungus to North America weeds and maybe removed them. Conversely, the speaker is disagreeing with this statement because he believing that some of tolerant plants maybe would be tolerant to fungus. If some of weak weeds removed by funguses then resistant chitagrass will replace them and it is worse.
