You would like to join the local orchestra
Write a letter of application to the orchestra. In the letter:
– Introduce yourself and your instrument of choice
– Explain how your credentials make you a good candidate
– Express your enthusiasm for music
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing this letter to show my interest and to apply to be part of the Lake town orchestra.
I have been formally training to play the piano since I was 7 years old. Along with that, I can also play the
electronic keybpoard and have an advanced understanding of reading music sheets. I would , moreover,
also like to highlight that I have been playing this instrument daily for 15 years and can learn new songs
without extra guidance.
In 2019, I ranked first in the inter-state talent hunt for displaying my ability to play the a famous song by
the renowned musician Bethoven. Additionally, I was also the head of the song and dance group at my
high school during my final year.
I love playing the piano because it has such a calming effect and it generates beautiful sounds. Due to
these reasons, I have always wanted to be a professional pianist. I practice minimum for an hour daily
where I try to put my own take on the latest songs. I have also recently created a mixed tape with my
best covers and also with a few of my own original music. I have attached a pendrive with those songs
that I have played on my piano for your listen.
I am very keen to be a part of your esteemed orchestra. I look forward to your positive revert at your
earliest convenience.
Yours faithfully,
Karishma Dave
