The bar chart compares the yearly wages in several countries of doctors and workers in other professions in the year 2004.
Overall, doctors salary was significantly higher than that of other workers in all countries surveyed. It is noticeable that American doctors earned the most annually.
Salaries in the US for doctors and employees of other jobs were the highest, at respectively 120 thousand and around 45 thousand of US dollars each year. Annual pay for doctors in France and Switzerland shared the second place at only about 70 thousand dollars, fairly more than half of that in the US. The figures for other workers were 30 thousand and France and 40 thousand in Switzerland.
Yearly wages for both occupational groups were similar in Italy, Czech Republic and Germany. Doctors earned about 60 thousand dollars or slightly above, about 3 times higher than other jobs. The lowest earnings of doctor was seen in Finland, at only around 50 thousand US dollar per year.
