The pie charts compare the expenditure of a school in the UK in three
different years over a 20-year period.
The given pie charts compare the proportion of expenditures in five different sectors with respect to a school in the UK over a period of 3 decades from 1981 to 2001.
Looking from the overall perspective, it is readily apparent that over a period as a whole, the major proportion of investment went for teachers' salaries. However, investment in the insurance sector witnessed a slight upward trend over time.
According to the given illustration, during the first decade, teachers' salaries rose to 50% from 40% in 1991. Also, whilst resources accounted for a fifth of the total(up by 5%), with merely a 1% increase, insurance made up 3% of the overall expenditure. However, other workers' salaries and furniture equipment observed a sharp plunge of nearly 6% and 10% respectively by the period end.
Turning to 2001, despite a 5% decline, teachers' salaries constituted a major part of the total expenditure. Besides, whereas other workers' salaries continued to decline(22% down to 15%), by contrast, resources, and furniture's budget kept fluctuating, reaching 9% and 23% respectively.
