The table below shows changes in the numbers of residents cycling to work in different areas of the UK between 2001 and 2011.
The table give information about the people used cycles for work in 12 cities of the UK between 2001 and 2011.
It is clear that the number of people of used cycle to go work in significantly increased over the 10 years. The figured showed eight cities had more than 50 percentage change, while only four countries had less than 50 percentage change throughout the 10 years period.
In 2001, inner London was the first cities were about 43494 people used cycles for commuter, and outer London experienced about 33836, the second highest number of people used cycle for travel. However, at the end of 10 years period, inner London remain in first in list, at 106219 people used cycles. While, outer London, fell down to last place at only 45% of people used cycle to cycling to work.
On the other hand, Brighton, Bristol, Manchester, Newcastle, Sheffield, Cardiff, and Gateshead, all of them showed a tremendous increase in change of percentage of people use cycle to work, with figures, 109%, 94%,83%,81%,80%,65%,61% respectively. Only three cities experienced less than 50% increase in 10 years period, Leeds, Liverpool, and Outer London, with figures 49%, 48%, and 45% respectively.
